'Raees' face imposition in Pakistan

7th February 2017

Shah Rukh Khan and Mahira Khan starrer 'Raees' came out to be the first blockbuster film of the year 2017 by entering the 100 crore club. Not only the box-office collections, the film also earned praises and appreciations. As Pakistan has uplifted the ban on Indian films in Pakistan, SRK's 'Raees' has to struggle as they have imposed a ban on the film for portraying Muslims in bad manner.

A leading daily quoted, "The content undermines Islam, and a specific religious sect, (It also) portrays Muslims as criminals, wanted persons and terrorists."

Recently Hrithik Roshan's 'Kaabil' made its way to the Pakistani theatres and marked itself as the first film to showcase beyond borders after the ban. Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' will also be screened in the theatres in Pakistan.
