Saif Ali Khan and his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan became proud parents on December 20, 2016 as Kareena gave birth to a baby boy Taimur Ali Khan. On one hand Kareena slayed her pregnancy like a boss by creating a style statement and even with working continuously till her delivery, her baby on the other hand had to face trolls and jokes right from his birth. Jokes, memes and trolls made their way on the internet which had opposing views about his name Taimur Ali Khan.

While his maternal grandfather Rishi Kapoor reacted to it at that time, both Saif and Kareena remained tight-lipped about the issue. But now daddy Saif has opened up about the controversy and shared his opinions. A leading daily quoted Saif saying, "My wife and I love the sound of it and we love its meaning. I am aware of the heritage of the Turkish ruler- he was Timur, my son is Taimur, an ancient Persian name that means iron."

He also added, "Perhaps I should have added a disclaimer, as they do in the movies, that any resemblance to any person, living or dead, is purely coincidental."
