13th MAMI Film Festival brings a feast of 200 films

This time October is really hot, not just because of the weather, but also because the most awaited film festival is here again. The 13th Mumbai International Film Festival aka Mami Film Festival from 13th October to 20th October, a Reliance Entertainment intitaive organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI) is here again with as many as 200 films. 

This year MAMI has a feast of movies right from movies by the directors of International reputation like Martin Scorsese, Lars Von Trier, Wim Wenders, etc. to the movies by debutante directors. The festival also features twenty short films on Mumbai in the competition "Dimensions Mumbai" by the cities budding filmmakers. 

Hugh Hudson (Jury president, international competition), Roger Spottiswoode, director of James Bond film ' Tomorrow Never Dies ' and  'The 6th Day ' movie director Jerzy Skolimowski, young Korean director - Na-Hong Jin who received awards and acclaim for his films ' The Chaser ' and ' The Yellow Sea ' and actress Sarika are the International Jury for this year's festival. Sarika was quoted saying, "I am delighted to be part of the 13th Mumbai film festival jury. I am looking forward to watching quality cinema of different kinds and meeting my counterparts from both India and abroad."

A few movies to look out for, at this year's MAMI are- Bennett Miller's 'Money Ball', Charles Martin Smith's 'Dolphin Tale', Michel Hazanavicius's 'The Artist', Lars Von Trier's 'Melancholia', Wim Wender's 'Pina' and Nuri Bilge Ceylan's 'Once Upon a Time in Anatolia'.
