Recently Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with doctorate in Philanthropy by University of Law for his contribution towards Meer Foundation. Now, the actor will make the country proud yet again, as he is going to be a part of Beijing International Film Festival to be held from April 13 to April 20, 2019. SRK will be accompanied by director Kabir Khan to this festival.
His last outing 'Zero' starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the female lead, will be premiere at Beijing International Film Festival.
China opening gate for Indian cinema to be screened in their country, has earned alot of profits to the filmmakers in the last couple of years. The actor-director duo is a part of China-India Film Cooperation Dialogue under BIFF. Movies like 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Andhadhun', 'Dangal', 'Hindi Medium' were appreciated by the audience.
His 2010 release 'My Name Is Khan' did extremely well at the Chinese BO as compared to 'Happy New Year' and 'Fan'.
Statement given by BIFF team reads, "In recent years, Indian films have entered the Chinese market one after another…However, from 2017, while the film Dangal swept 1.3 billion yuan ($190 million) in box office in mainland China and created the "miracle moment" of Indian movies in China, more and more Indian movies such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Secret Superstar became popular in the Chinese film market."
"Both China and India are countries with large film production, and Chinese and Indian films have many commonalities and potential for cooperation."
"The dialogue seeks ways for the common development of Chinese and Indian films and creates more opportunities for further strengthening China-India film cooperation."
