Stars being fined or put behind the bars for their wrongdoings take their fans by shock. Popular TV actress Alka Kaushal has been sentenced to jail.

According to reports, the actress along with her mother Vishwa Mohan Badola is sentenced to jail for two years. The mother-daughter duo had borrowed 50 lakh from an acquaintance and while repaying the amount issued two cheques of Rs. 25 lakh each in his name which bounced at the bank.

As per a report in a news daily, "Advocate Sukhbir Singh said that Alka and her mother had borrowed 50 lakhs from an acquaintance, Avtar Singh. The money was borrowed with the promise of serial-making. When Avtar asked Alka to give back her money, he got 2 cheques of 25 lakhs each. But they got bounced. After that Avtar, filed a case against Alka and her mother in Malerkotla court."

Alka was seen playing mother's role in 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Queen' in the recent past. She is also popularly known for her negative role in TV shows such as 'Swaragini' and 'Qubool Hai.'
