50 Cent: Song with Jackson is 2010 Thriller

4th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - 50 Cent says his soon to be released collaboration with Michael Jackson is the 2010 Thriller.

The 35-year-old - real name Curtis James Jackson - recorded vocals for the track titled Monster, for the self-titled posthumous album from the King of Pop set to be released this month. Despite being one of the biggest names in rap, 50 Cent concedes that he was anxious at the prospect of working on the track as Michael was one of a kind.

"I don't usually get nervous, because I really don't care about a lot of the artists but Mike is special. He's different, he is quoted as saying by MTV News. I don't know how to explain it. When I sat down and listened to the actual song, I was excited. I said, 'This is the 2010 version of Thriller."

50 Cent went on to lament the passing of the superstar before he had a chance to complete the song. The occasional actor taped his vocals separately from Michael leading the rapper to rue his missed chance.

"I missed an opportunity to be on a record not just with a great artist, but a legend. So I wanted more, and I made adjustments to my cadence so I don't sound like I sound on music that people have previously heard from me, because I'm adjusting to the production," he added. (C) Cover Media
