(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mike Myers admits he wasnt sure about the title of his hit movie Shrek.
The versatile comedian started playing the animated green ogre in 2001, scoring a worldwide hit and has since lent his voice to three further instalments.
With the fourth Shrek, Shrek Forever After due for release on DVD/Blu-ray, the 47-year-old went on to reveal that he wasnt initially taken with the idea of the film, especially its simple title. He voiced his concerns to DreamWorks Animation honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg who soothed his fears.
"I was like, Shrek! Can you change the name?" Mike asked Jeffrey in the exclusive behind-the-scenes features on the DVD. "He goes, 'No, we're quite confident.'"
Mike went on to concede that once he understood the films message he was glad to get on board. The former Waynes World star decided it was his duty to bring the moral behind the tale to life.
"He [Katzenberg] told me the message of the film, which is that you're already beautiful, don't let other people tell you you're not and I thought, when I have grandkids, that's the sort of well-told, silly, fun fairy tale I want to take them to," he concluded. (C) Cover Media
