Hilary Swank, the American film actress who has been acting professionally since 16 turns 38 today! She has won the Academy Award for Best Actress twice, as Brandon Teena in Boys Don't Cry (1999) and as struggling waitress-turned-boxer Maggie Fitzgerald in Million Dollar Baby (2004).

To quote the actress gratitude speech at the 2005 Oscars, “I don't know what I did in this life to deserve all this. I'm just a girl from a trailer park who had a dream. I never thought this would ever happen, let alone be nominated”.
