(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Abbie Cornish would learn Spanish in a day if she was given super-human powers.
The Australian actress stars alongside Bradley Cooper in thriller Limitless, which tells the story of a writer called Eddie who is introduced to a top-secret drug that allows him to take on super-human abilities. The 28-year-old star plays Lindy in the blockbuster, the ex-girlfriend of Eddie.
Abbie has revealed that if she could take the pill without suffering its addictive side effects and do anything with it, she would learn to speak Spanish for her upcoming movie, The Girl.
If I could take the pill in Limitless without the side-effects, if you could just kind of go on a joy-ride, right now in my life, Id learn to speak Spanish, she told USA Today. I have to speak Spanish in my next film, so if I could do that in one day it would be incredible!
Abbie who was first noticed after starring in 2004 film Somersault has also spoken about playing Wally Winthrop in movie W.E, about Wallis Simpson and Britains King Edward VIII. Edwards decision to propose to American divorce Wallis in 1936 caused a constitutional crisis in Britain as it was thought she would not be accepted by the public, and he eventually abdicated.
In October Abbie finished shooting the movie, which is being directed by songstress Madonna. Abbie landed the role with the queen of pop via Skype, which was a surreal experience.
"I'd never used Skype before, and I was sitting there on my mum's computer setting up a Skype account," she says. "It was really surreal because I was meeting her she was in New York I just remember logging on and she's so beautiful and it's Madonna, you know. It was kind of crazy."
Abbie has also revealed her plans to have children in the future. The actress who split from fellow actor Ryan Phillippe last year says she is more aware of her long-term plans now she is getting older.
"I think it's really important to live in the moment," she said. "Something I've noticed as I get older is that I do think about the future more. It's all positive thinking. I can see [having] a child one day, and so I start to take more care of myself." (C) Cover Media
