The Bachchan clan is a huge fan of India's global icon Rajinikanth.

Everytime Rajinikanth is in town, the whole Bachchan clan meets him without fail. But this time around, Abhishek Bachchan couldn't make it to the important event as he was busy shooting for his upcoming film 'Happy New Year'.

The shooting of his film went on till the wee hours of morning and hence he couldn't make it to the launch party. However, his wife actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, mother Jaya Bachchan and father Amitabh Bachchan were there at the event from the start to the end. 

Like Abhishek, Deepika Padukone also didn't attend the event as she too was busy shooting for the same film. 

It was more surprising to see Deepika missing from the event as she is the leading lady opposite Rajini in the mentioned film that will be released in Tamil as well as Hindi. 

Apparently, they couldn't miss the shoot for the fact that the film's lead star Shah Rukh Khan's accident on the sets a few months back had turned its schedule upside down. And as the film is slated to release this Diwali, the team is working on a tight schedule.
 
As they say, to gain some, you have to lose some.
