It's no secret that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, after winning the Miss World title started her film career with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film 'Iruvar'. The beauty queen hails from Mangalore and her mother tongue is Tulu and not Tamil. The lady had a lot of problems adapting to the language for the first film.

Later, Aishwarya went on to do various Tamil films and finally got a strong hold of the language. Her recent performance in the magnum opus 'Robot' starring Rajnikanth earned her rave reviews. The greatest compliment has now come from the living legend Rajinikanth himself. It is reported that Rajni is quite impressed by Aishwarya's command over the lingo and has given her a new name 'Tamila'.

As far as we know, Aishwarya doesn't like people giving her nicknames coz when the media addressed her by her on-everyone's-tongue nickname 'Ash', the lady fumed and expressed her disapproval for the same. But if Rajini Sir is giving someone a nick name, you can't really object. What say Tamila?
