(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Alec Baldwin will need to "control his quick temper" if he wants a political career, it has been suggested.
The 30 Rock actor has long discussed his lofty aspirations and recently hinted he will be looking to enter the political arena in 2014.
The star is known for being outspoken and it's been claimed that might be both a good and bad thing if he does pursue his ambition.
"There's good news and bad news about Alec Baldwin when it comes to him running for office," a political source told Chicago Sun-Times.
"On the one hand he's extremely quick, sharp and knowledgeable about many issues He would be a terrific debater. The bad news? He has to develop a thicker skin and control his quick temper."
Alec is divorced from Kim Basinger, with who he has 16-year-old daughter Ireland. Their split was acrimonious with Alec hitting the headlines after he left Ireland a voicemail calling her a "rude, thoughtless little pig" because she wasn't at home when he wanted to talk to her.
Earlier this year, he was thrown off a plane when he apparently refused to stop using his cell phone.
Despite his colourful private life, it's been suggested Alec will only turn to politics if he thinks he has a chance at securing a top position.
"I believe he'd like the platform a seat in Congress might provide," another insider told the publication.
Alec has discussed his love of government in the past, but his role on comedy series 30 Rock has always come first. It's recently been reported the show will finish next year, leaving him open to take his life in a new direction. (C) Cover Media
