Alexa Chung frustrated by lack of vintage gems

30th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Alexa Chung is worried about the lack of quality vintage clothing available, joking that there are now only dodgy items from the 80s left.

The 27-year-old British TV presenter has been known to roam the thrift stores and flea markets of New York and London in a bid to find unique items of clothing.

But Alexa admits shes becoming less and less fond of retro shopping because many of the best items from days gone by have been snapped up. She says there are still some attractive items to be had in Los Angeles though.

Its hard these days, most things have gone and theres only bad 80s stuff left. LA is still good for bargains but its tricky to find gems in London and New York now, she told Stylist.

The gorgeous star has made some excellent discoveries in the past though, and still holds a vintage ring she bought in London very close to her heart. Alexa is famed for her tomboy aesthetic, and cites a pair of denim shorts as her all-time favourite item of clothing.

I wear [the denim shorts] almost daily, she beamed when asked which pieces of her wardrobe she loves most.

Other than that its an antique cameo ring I got from Spitalfields Market in east London or my small Chanel bag. (C) Cover Media
