Alexander Skarsgrd: Cowboy boots were disastrous

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Alexander Skarsgrd says American fashion doesn't translate well in his native Sweden.

The 34-year-old actor is best known for his role portraying vampire Eric Northman in US television series True Blood, and often sports a dapper look on the red carpet.

Alexander tends to go for an understated look, although he recalls being more experimental as a youngster when he spent time in America with his actor father Stellan Skarsgrd.

"I spent two months in Fredericksburg, Texas, when I was eight, while my father shot a movie," he explained in Interview. "I got myself a pair of awesome boots and a cowboy hat. Then I got back to Sweden in September to go back to school, and I was so proud of my cowboy boots. I told my mom and my dad, I'm going to wear these bad boys to school today, and all the kids are going to love me. I'm going to be the coolest kid in school.' Then I showed up and everyone was like, Dude, why are you wearing ladies' boots?' They didn't really work in Sweden."

Alexander says his disastrous fashion experiment had a long-lasting impact. The hunk now tends to wear more traditional footwear.

"I wore them that one day, and then I ran home and cried and never wore those boots again," he blushed. (C) Cover Media
