Amy Adams: I'm too tired for date nights

15th November 2011

Amy Adams and her fianc think they're "crazy" if they stay awake past 11.30pm.

The stunning star and Darren Le Gallo welcomed 18-month-old daughter Aviana Olea into the world last year. The pair are adjusting to parenthood, and are savouring their weekly date nights in the process.

Amy has joked that the evenings are mostly unsuccessful, as they are always so tired.

"They include a lot of food and maybe a glass of wine," she revealed.

"We're always like, It's 11:30!  Woo-hoo! We're crazy!'"

Amy believes there is a happy medium when it comes to balancing work and family life. The actress wants to continue making movies and be a devoted wife and mother at the same time.

"I have to trust that I can prioritise my family and myself while still finding the energy and focus for my work," she insisted in the December issue of InStyle magazine.

"And I believe I can. I know I can."

Amy is in no rush to tone up following the birth of her daughter. The 37-year-old beauty is comfortable with her body and lifestyle.

"I read about these actresses who get on a stationary bike two weeks after giving birth and I'm like, What? Where did you push your baby out of?'" she quipped. "Since having Aviana, I have a muffin top, and that's okay right now."

"I'm definitely not one of those women who make it look easy. I'm always running late and look, there's guacamole on my purse!" she joked. "But I'm more patient than I ever thought I would be, and I'm not so hard on myself anymore."

Amy and Darren become engaged in 2008, and are yet to confirm a date for their big day. Amy admits the nuptials are likely to be sooner rather than later though.

"I'll say to Darren, What do you think of May?' and he'll say, May. Ha, ha. You just let me know.' I just can't decide!" she laughed.

"I am putting more pressure on myself now that we have Avi. I'll figure it out soon."
