Amy Winehouse banned from tour alcohol

9th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Amy Winehouse has reportedly been banned from drinking alcohol while on tour.

The singer recently spent a week at The Priory clinic in London, with her representative explained she had "embarked on a treatment programme". She's due to perform a short series of shows over the coming weeks and decided to get help so she is on top form when she takes to the stage.

Amy has undergone a high-profile battle with drugs in the past and this time it's thought she was getting help for her alcohol consumption. Her father Mitch was said to be concerned she was drinking too much.

Her management team are determined to do all they can to support her and so have decided to ban any such beverages from her tour.

She starts the shows on June 18 in Serbia, and the hotel she'll stay at has already received a request for no alcohol to be present in the rooms Amy and her staff will be in.

"Room service staff are also under strict orders not to deliver any drinks. Other hotels on the 12-date itinerary are understood to have been told the same," reports British newspaper The Sun.

The move comes after Amy was seen "flailing about" in a London bar shortly after leaving rehab. Onlookers claimed she was "a bit of a mess" and hadn't made any effort with her clothes.

After she was released from treatment a week ago, her spokesperson said: "Amy Winehouse has completed her assessment at the Priory clinic in London and will continue as an outpatient.

"She is now looking forward to playing shows around Europe this summer and is raring to go." (C) Cover Media
