Amy Winehouse's boyfriend: I've lost my darling

26th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Amy Winehouse's boyfriend Reg Traviss has spoken for the first time about losing his "dear love".

The 35-year-old film director paid tribute to those who are mourning the loss of the Back to Black singer, after she was found dead in her North London home on Saturday.

Reg said that Amy had been full of life in the days before her death and told The Sun newspaper that she was excitedly trying to decide what outfit to wear to a friend's wedding on Sunday.

"I can't describe what I am going through... I have lost my darling who I loved very much," Reg said sadly.

"She has been full of life and so upbeat recently, exercising everyday and doing yoga. This terrible thing that happened is like an accident.

"[She was a] beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love".

Amy's funeral will take place today a private Jewish ceremony for just relatives and close friends where the singer's body will be cremated.

The couple had been dating for two years with Amy's family seeing Reg as a more positive influence on her than her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil who has been blamed for introducing Amy to hard drugs.

Meanwhile, Amy's multi-million pound estate is reportedly going to be split between her mother Janis, father Mitch and brother Alex with Blake having been left out of her will, according to Britain's Daily Mail.

Blake is currently serving a 32-month jail sentence for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm. They divorced in 2009 after a volatile two-year marriage.

A post-mortem carried out on Amy yesterday was inconclusive with authorities awaiting results from toxicology tests to determine the cause of death.

But the singer's family believe she died from either a heart attack or a fatal seizure, according to The Sun, as she had regular heart palpitations and suffered several seizures from the effect the drugs and alcohol had taken on her body.

She reportedly went on several vodka binges in the past few weeks and her European tour was cancelled after she was booed off stage for her drunken performance. (C) Cover Media
