(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Andrew Garfield felt "confused" when his parents dressed him as Spider-Man as a child.

The 28-year-old British actor is playing the superhero in the new movie The Amazing Spider-Man. It's a role which means a lot to him because he's always been a fan of the character.

"I was dressed as him in a Halloween costume by my mum when I was about four, and I remember being very confused by it," he laughed.

Andrew's parents had to discuss the character with him. Their words made him realise he had a great deal in common with the action hero who is known for being slight but wily.

"Then she and my dad explained to me who Spider-Man was that he was a very small, skinny kid who feels stronger on the inside than he looks on the outside and that meant a lot to me, because that's how I felt too," he told British magazine Company. (C) Cover Media
