Michael Kaplan, an American movie costume designer, has been working in the Hollywood film industry since the 1980s, and boasts an impressive array of A-list clientele.

The award-winning clothes mogul dressed the Hollywood actress for her 2005 romantic comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith, where she co-starred alongside her now-beau Brad Pitt.

Despite forming a strong relationship after a few months on set, Michael says Angelina knows exactly what suits her when it comes to style, and was initially hesitant when it came to mixing up her wardrobe.

"I love Angie, Angelina Jolie. She was really very tough at first. She is the kind of person that really doesn't trust anyone until she gets to know you and the first few months were rough but once I proved myself to her it was put it on and let's do it," he revealed in an interview with British newspaper The Independent.

"She is the kind of person, I don't know if it was about my choices, she is just a person who is resistant, if I said black she said white, she just has that kind of personality which I really like, she is a strong woman."

Michael, who most recently worked on the Golden Globe Award-winning movie Burlesque, also dressed Brad for his iconic role in Fight Club. The designer says the Hollywood hunk is very easy to work with when it comes to fashion, because he is more open-minded about making decisions.

"He's very easy going, very laid-back, he's fun, he's funny, loves clothes, loves to collaborate and he doesn't just want to wear anything," he said.

"He is clear who the character is and that is important to me and we have a great professional relationship." (C) Cover Media
