(Cover) - EN Movies - Anne Hathaway fell "in love like a fool" when she met her current boyfriend.

The actress has been dating Adam Shulman for three years, and explained she wanted to stay single for a while following her split from ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri. They parted ways in June 2008 and later that month he was arrested for fraud and then imprisoned for four-and-a-half years.

But the brunette beauty has moved on and described her relationship with Adam as "serious".

"Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time and then I fall in love like a fool," she told the UK edition of Marie Claire. "Yes, three years. It's serious!"

Anne also revealed how she deals with heartache. She got over the high-profile break-up from Follieri by penning silly songs, explaining laughing at situations which are difficult always helps her cope.

"That was how I got through my pain. I wrote funny songs about it. That's always been the way I deal with things. You make a joke of it," she said.

Anne is currently riding on a wave of success, starring in the highly anticipated adaptation of David Nicholls' book One Day. But the 28-year-old admits to feeling out of her depth, explaining she is particularly nervous about pulling off a British regional accent for her role as Emma in the picture.

"I've never been so nervous about playing anyone as I was to play Emma. There were many reasons to say no to this part. One, because I didn't think I could pull it off. Two, I was very nervous about the Yorkshire accent," she explained.

Anne has also landed the coveted part of Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises. (C) Cover Media
