(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Antonia Campbell-Hughes can relate to her most recent party-girl character.

The Northern Irish actress has starred in a host of British television dramas and comedies and can be seen in Lotus Eaters, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last weekend.

The movie is directed by Alexandra McGuiness and follows a group of youngsters from Londons social elite who lead an excessive lifestyle involving lavish parties.

The film centres for the most part on the story of Alice, played by Antonia, who is a struggling model. Antonia feels able to relate to her character, who is searching for a way to bring deeper meaning to her life.

Definitely. I had my party days, I can totally relate to Alice. That time when youve come to an end, a personal end. Things begin to lose their shine, the clothes, the make-up and the beauty and you start to look for something beyond it. I totally have hit that point. Thats why I found filming Lotus Eaters so fascinating, she told Cover Media.

The 28-year-old star thinks many people fall into a superficial lifestyle. The talented actress learnt from her own personal experiences that sometimes friendships and relationships arent all they seem.

Its like suddenly, overnight, the things that were so sparkly and magpie-ish lose their glisten and it begins to look empty, and then what do you replace it with? I think a lot of people hit that point in their lives, she revealed. Its quite interesting when its been the sole focus in someones life. Then you realise your friends arent your friends and you question everything about them, you question yourself, you question your relationship. (C) Cover Media
