A.R. Rahman out of Manirathnam's project
20th January 2011
This can be regarded as the important event in the history of Tamil Cinema. Manirathnam and A.R. Rahman streaked together with continuous triumphs for past couple of decades starting from 'Roja' to the recent release 'Raavanan'. Now we hear that orthodox filmmaker has opted to join hands with his old friend Maestro Ilayaraja. It is worth mentioning that Mani and Ilayaraja together worked in various projects and parted ways due to creative difference of opinions.
A.R. Rahman is busy now working on international projects and has no time reserved for Tamil projects. On the pars, Manirathnam has felt that Rs. 250Crore project deserves Maestro Ilayaraja as he happens to possess the abilities to churn out music for the genre of period film.
The film titled 'Ponniyin Selvan' is based on the novel that was written in 5 volumes with the same title.
