Aravaan: Vasanthabalan speaks out

13th October 2011

Doing a period film is a huge task. It involves intense research and huge budget. Thankfully, Aravaan has shaped up well, said director Vasanthabalan.

He was speaking to reporters in Chennai on Wednesday evening. After 'Veyyil' and 'Angadi Theru', Vasantabalan is ready with his next 'Aravaan'. The sets used in this movie will give you a feel of the 18th century.

'Aravaan' is inspired by a novel Kaval Kottam by Su Venkateshan and stars Aadhi, Pasupathy and Dhanshika in lead roles. Bharath and Anjali are doing cameo. Produced by T Siva of Amma Creations, it has cinematography by Siddharth and music by Karthik.

Vasantabalan said, 'we shot for almost two years in difficult terrains. The whole unit worked hard. Due credit should be given to Aadhi and Pasupathy, who worked tirelessly without any compromise'.

'Aadhi has great potential and is sure to emerge as the next 'Hrithik Roshan' of Indian cinema, and Pasupathy has been under-utilized so far in Tamil cinema. He will scale new heights with Aravaan' he added.
