(Cover) - EN Star Style - Ashley Tisdale prefers being brunette because it's more natural.

The 25-year-old American actress has experimented with a number of hairstyles and colours, but insists her favourite shade for her tresses is natural brunette.

The star, who plays a cheerleader in the US television series Hellcats, says her natural darker shade is easier to maintain.

"I like being brunette I just feel it's my natural colour so it's so much easier to keep up with!" she said.

Ashley played the loudmouthed character Sharpay Evans in the three hugely successful High School Musical movies, and starred in her own spin-off film - Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure - which she also produced. The star's make-up artist Julia Valente, says Ashley was very forthcoming with ideas when it came to being in the make-up chair.

"Yes, we created it together because Ashley knows exactly what works for her. She knows the character extremely well and was always full of ideas," she explained in an interview with Mizz magazine. "She was also incredibly patient because she had to spend a lot of time in the make-up chair." (C) Cover Media
