(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Beyonc Knowles has joked that she felt pregnant with her new DVD.

The American solo singer was forced to furiously deny rumours recently that she was expecting a child with her husband, US rapper Jay-Z.

Now the star has laughed about the incident, which set tongues wagging about the potential immanency of her motherhood, admitting that all the time people were talking about her pregnancy she had been busy working on her new DVD called I Am... World Tour.

"I was pregnant with this DVD, yes!" she told MTV News.

Beyonc directed the production herself, which is something the singer feels pleased about.

While the star has helped to co-direct music videos before, directing this DVD on her own was a first and she didnt take the job lightly.

The 29-year-old admitted she is now in awe of movie directors after the gruelling experience.

"It was hard work," she said. "I learned so much. I have a new respect for directors and I think I would like to do more of it."

I Am... World Tour goes on sale later in the month and a television special will air in the US on the Thanksgiving holiday. (C) Cover Media
