(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Beyonc Knowles feels "empowered" by her pregnancy.

The 30-year-old singer is five months pregnant with her and husband Jay-Z's first child together. Beyonc has thoroughly enjoyed being with child these past few months.

"It's been great. I feel free. I feel very empowered," Beyonc told television show ET Canada Tonight.

Rumours about Beyonc being pregnant were swirling around the star for years. Beyonc chose to announce her pregnancy at MTV's Video Music Awards in August.

The stunning songstress chose to deliver her message through performance by revealing her baby bump to the audience on stage.

"I was just wondering how it's going to be when one day I am pregnant and everyone's like, Oh God, I don't want to hear this again,'" Beyonc said. "But I'm happy that people were happy and I actually didn't announce it in a statement. I said it's better to just show everyone."

Although the singer is halfway through her term, Beyonc is still putting in lots of work professionally. She has just launched her fragrance Beyonc Pulse in New York City Wednesday. This launch was particularly pleasurable for the star, as her nose has heightened sensitivity throughout pregnancy.

"I smell everything," Beyonc said. "If it smells bad I smell it, if it smells great I love it."
