Big B excited about film retrospective in Florence

Amitabh Bachchan is a man of great honour and respect. He has grown from time to time with his skills and performance and has given his best to the Indian cinema.

After being a part of the 12th Marrakech International Film Festival, Big B is now off to Florence, Italy to attend the River to River 2012 Indian Film Festival.

The actor is excited about visiting the city for the festival, where his movies 'Sholay', 'Black' 'Deewar' and even 'Everlasting Light', a documentary on him, will be screened.

"And tomorrow to Florence, Italy as guest of honor for the Film Festival which does a retrospective of my films, starting with 'Black'," Bachchan wrote on his microblogging page.

His wife Jaya Bachchan is invited too, but she will not be able to join him. "It was meant to be to honor Jaya and myself, but she cannot come because of Parliament .. another beautiful city, another honor !!," he further added.

The festival will start on December 7 until December 13, and it will also showcase other Bollywood movies like 'Raja Harishchandra', 'Rockstar' and 'Gangs of Wasseypur'.

In the past, the actor was conferred an honorary doctrate from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.

He was also awarded France's highest civilian honor, the Knight of the Legion of Honor, for his exceptional career in the world of cinema and beyond.
