Brad Pitt and his son Maddox looked "like a regular father and son" on a midweek outing.

The actor and his partner Angelina Jolie raise six children together.

Brad took his eldest tot Maddox on an outing to the Hollywood Guitar Centre store this week.

Maddox appeared extremely enthusiastic about checking out the instruments with his father.

"He spent time with his son looking at various guitars and the kid seemed genuinely interested," an eyewitness told Us Weekly magazine. "[They] were like a regular father and son. Maddox was a fun kid who looked like a little rock dude."

Brad and Maddox left the shop smiling with an amplifier and a new guitar.

Angelina has spoken before about how impressed she is by her partner's parenting skills.

"When we first met I appreciated how caring, sexy and how great a friend he was to me. But I also fell in love with the man who was a very loving father and how much he enjoys spending time with the children," she gushed to the UK edition of OK! magazine.

"When I see how much love is in Brad's eyes for the twins and for all our children, it's a moving experience for me. He has such a beautiful time and feels so proud showing them different sights whenever we visit cities and he's like a teacher in that way."

Brad and Angelina are parents to Maddox, ten, Pax, eight, and seven-year-old Zahara as well as biological children Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne together.
