Brooklyn Decker is intent on adopting a child "with an intellectual disability one day."
The 25-year-old model-and-actress is married to tennis player Andy Roddick.
Brooklyn desires to become a mother and will consider many family planning options beyond the biological route.
"I want to adopt a child or a baby with an intellectual disability one day," Brooklyn told Canadian magazine Flare. "I mean, that's in the distant future, but that's always been a goal of mine."
Brooklyn has an aunt with a mental disability who is also a Special Olympics athlete.
The star is inspired by her relative and desires to foster strength and confidence in similarly disadvantaged youth.
"Unfortunately a lot of kids with intellectual disabilities are given up for adoption when they're born 'cause it's a lot for a family," she said.
Brooklyn's new movie Battleship also starring Liam Neeson, Rihanna and Taylor Kitsch will be released in US theatres May 18.
