Bryan Ferry discusses heart problem

12th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bryan Ferry has revealed the cause of his recent health scare was an abnormal heart rhythm, although insists he is feeling great now.

The 65-year-old British musician is famed for making hits with Roxy Music, as well as enjoying a successful solo career.

In April there were fears he had suffered a heart attack after he cancelled an appearance at an Olympics 2012 event at London's O2 Arena. The singer underwent tests, and has revealed an abnormal heart rhythm was in fact the cause of his illness.

Bryan had pulled out of the ceremony, organised by international sports organisation SportAccord, only a few hours before proceedings were set to kick off. Sporting dignitaries from across the globe were in attendance on the night.

Bryan is fully recovered from the health scare now and feels "fitter, funnily enough", he told Radio Times.

Last month the rocker was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen of England's Birthday Honours for his contribution to the music industry. The talented star was thrilled to receive the prestigious accolade in honour of his career "because I've spent 40-odd years being quite passionate about it".

Bryan is one of the most famous figures of the 1970s glam rock scene and is best known for his hits with Roxy Music including Virginia Plain, Love Is The Drug, Angel Eyes and Jealous Guy. (C) Cover Media
