(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Carey Mulligan says her brain doesnt work when shes too skinny.

The actress shot to fame last year after appearing in a string of films, with her part in An Education winning her a nomination for this years best supporting actress Oscar. Carey prides herself on having a normal womans body, and has insisted she would never be pressured into losing weight.

The thinnest Ive ever been is when I had my appendix out. I went down to 112lbs, she explained. And I realised my brain doesnt work when Im that thin.

Carey has been open about her attitude to her body before, saying there is no reason for her to start obsessing about her appearance. She has no desire to fit into sample size clothes, although she admits it would have been helpful if she did during a recent photoshoot.

The dress was very pretty but wouldn't go over my a*s, she said, on the gown she recently wore for a US Vogue editorial. Sample size is very, very tiny. I'm actually wearing a towel around my waist and the bottom is clipped up because I couldn't fit." (C) Cover Media
