(Cover) - EN Movies - Carey Mulligan is "raring to go" on upcoming picture The Great Gatsby.
The 26-year-old British actress will begin shooting the romantic drama in Australia next month, portraying socialite Daisy Buchanan.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the film is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's eponymous novel, which tells the story of a man who becomes lured into his neighbour's extravagant lifestyle.
Carey has just completed a stage play in New York, Through a Glass Darkly, and is excited about getting back on a film set.
"It's daunting. It's the biggest thing I've been involved in - it's strange going from a little off-Broadway play to such a big thing, but I'm raring to go," she told the BBC.
Other stars lined up to appear in The Great Gatsby include Leonardo DiCaprio and Isla Fisher. The entire cast met up in New York earlier this year to begin preparing their characters.
"It's really research intensive. We got overloaded with books and research files. I've been reading Zelda Fitzgerald [wife of F Scott] biographies about [Chicago socialite] Ginevra King and all these characters that Daisy was drawn from," added Carey. (C) Cover Media
