Castle Season 3 Premiere: Review

28th September 2010

September 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Suave, boyish, annoyingly good at what he does, and undeniably cute Rick Castle is back with Season 3 of the popular crime drama 'Castle' and the show has not reduced the glamour quotient at all. In fact, the Fall Season promises to be even more intriguing than before. The Season Premiere episode was called A Deadly Affair. Castle was away all summer, with his ex-wife... errr, writing his new book. Beckett (and for some reason, the rest of the team) is mad at Castle for 'not calling' at all. And when Castle does return, he rubs Beckett the wrong way, just like the good old times, by being in the wrong place at the wrong time... twice! Castle wants to get back to crime fighting right away and doesn't even let getting declared a murder suspect come in his way of it.

Beckett makes a wager that he can comeback only if he solves the case before she does. It goes without saying that Castle wins the bet, but somehow we feel that Beckett lost the bet on purpose. So far 'Castle' is one of the best written shows on TV and it has a very good storyline. Castles interaction with Alexis and her boyfriend is adorable. The mirroring between Castle and Beckett continues to tease the audience with the idea that the duo might be subconsciously in love after all. It is precisely this chemistry, and nailbiting suspense of "will they, won't they?" that makes this show the winner over its counterparts of the same genre, such as the recently debuted 'The Whole Truth', 'Undercovers', and others. We are not sure if Castle is getting back with his ex-wife/publisher because despite being together for three months he never mentioned her throughout the Season 3 premiere.

We are sure Castle will spring a lot of surprises at us this season, so lets grab the seats and wait for the drama to unfold.
