(Cover) - EN Movies - Catherine Hardwicke has revealed an alternate ending for Red Riding Hood is "sexier" than the cinema version.

The director is currently promoting the DVD release of the children's fairytale remake. She chose to include the second option for the ending in the DVD extras because it is more "intense".

Although it only has a few extra scenes at the end, she wanted to share it with viewers because it has a different feel to the original.

"Well, it's really just a few scenes at the end. When you're in the editing process, you try different things and you get creative ideas, and we came up with two different endings," Catherine told movie website Collider. "I like them both, but this one is a bit sexier and a little bit more intense, in a couple of the scenes, so we thought it would be fun to have them both."

The filmmaker loves putting together the perfect cast for a movie.

Catherine has previously directed and co-produced hit movies including Twilight and Vanilla Sky, and believes finding the right actors breathes life into a script.

"When I saw Amanda [Seyfried] and Shiloh [Fernandez] interacting and their chemistry, I thought, "OK, that's pretty sexy. That can be steamy. I feel something between these two characters," she said. "You love those moments, as a filmmaker, or when an actress comes in and reads a small part, like the girl that played the mean girl in the movie. She was just so diabolical that I loved it. You're like, Yes!' I never expected it to be that way, but the actress might bring this whole other layer and just give you the chills. Those are exciting moments." (C) Cover Media
