B-town celebs such as Rishi Kapoor, Vidya Balan and Varun Dhawan expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science for paying tributes to Indian stars, Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor in the In Memoriam segment at the 2018 Oscars ceremony.
The 65-year-old actor thanked the Oscars Academy awards via Twitter. He wrote, "Oscars. Thank you for remembering Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi," Rishi Kapoor worked with Sridevi in the films such 'Chandni', 'Nagina' and 'Gurudev', among others.
Shashi Kapoor died in 2017 whereas Sridevi's death left the whole industry on February 24 due to accidental drowning in Dubai.
Other than Rishi Kapoor many B-town expressed their gratitude via Twitter. Vidya Balan wrote, "The Oscars paid tribute to our beloved Sridevi... #YourLegacyLivesOn."
Varun Dhawan tweeted, "So amazing to see the #oscars pay respect to #shashikapoor and #sridevi #Oscar90."
Farah Khan tweeted, "Teary eyed to see #Sridevi being featured in the Oscars IN MEMORIUM." Whereas Arjun Rampal wrote "Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor in Oscars Memoriam. What true great stars we have."
Both Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi, who were Padma awardees, were cremated with state honours.
