Chakravuyh packs a punch

19th August 2012

Filmmaker Prakash Jha has been known for making socially relevant films which often have a fair balance of how it all is connected to politics of Indian society.

In all his films, Prakash somehow manages to de-clutter a specific segment or section of governing bodies. Be it 'Raajneeti' where he talked about political parties, 'Aarakshan' where the issue of education system was rattled or 'Gangaajal' where the functioning of police department had been scrutinized, he has picked up some of the most crucial issues of all times.

Nonetheless, with his latest flick 'Chakravyuh' he attempts to open up the issue of 'Maoists' and 'Naxalism' prevailing in the interiors of India.

The film has some of the most critically acclaimed performers donning rebel characters for the intriguing story of fight against injustice.

The first look of the film packs a punch in true sense, as it not only briefly introduces every character, but also shows the glimpse of the grave issue that has India divided over the situation.

Starring Arjun Rampal and Esha Gupta as cops, the film has Abhay Deol, Om Puri and Manoj Bajpai playing the rebels.
