(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The producer of The Eagle thinks the friendly competitiveness between Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell helped them survive freezing Scottish temperatures.

Set in Roman-ruled Britain, the adventure movie tells the story of a young Roman soldier who tries to honour his late fathers memory by going on a hunt for his lost legions gold emblem.

The films producer Duncan Kenworthy admits some of the action scenes, which were filmed in the cold Scottish countryside, were tough for the movies stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell to cope with.

However, he thinks the friendly rivalry between the pair spurred them on and prevented them from complaining.

They spent two days together basically in the freezing cold in the October here in Scotland in the rain, swimming in this river and yet because theyre such good pals they were egging each other on and they put up with it, enthused Duncan in a promotional video featured on British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

Channing, 30, plays centurion Marcus Aquila in the adventure movie, while 24-year-old Jamie portrays slave Esca. The former has praised the movies director Kevin Macdonald for emphasising the bond between the movies male characters.

What Kevins really great at is relationships, especially friends, enthused Channing. (C) Cover Media
