11th April 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Channing Tatum says he is appreciated by his wife because he always puts the toilet seat down.

The 30-year-old actor who is best known for his roles in Step Up, Dear John, and most recently The Eagle has been married to Jenna Dewan for almost two years. The stars met on the set of Step Up in 2006, and started dating shortly after filming had finished. Channing says the pair - who married in July 2009 get on so well because of his courteous behaviour he learnt growing up around women.

"I hope I'm a good husband. I always put the toilet seat down," he told People. "I grew up with women so I would get in big trouble if I didn't put the toilet seat back down. It's been ingrained in me."

Channing has revealed their secret to domestic bliss is to equally divide household chores. The Hollywood star says that although his wife is less tidy than he is, she always does her fair share around the house.

"Even though my clothes are literally everywhere, she's actually the messier one," he revealed. "But Jenna does pick up the clothes and does the laundry. I'm more of the kitchen guy, and I vacuum and keep the desk organised. So, we split it down the middle."

The hunky actor says that despite being an international star, he loves nothing more than spending time at home with his wife. The actor has gushed that Jenna is perfect and understands his hectic career in the film industry.

"One of the best parts of being married is coming home and just sitting on the couch with her. Knowing that she will be there and that she understands me and I can tell her about my day, it's really nice, he gushed. "She's the perfect wife. She's so loving and a beautiful lady inside and out."

Jenna, 30, says the relationship is very loving. She has admitted that the pair rely on small gestures to keep each other feeling special.

"He's a really understanding husband. He's very compassionate. He grew with all women, so he understands where girls are coming from and what our needs are, she revealed. "We work at it. We do something to make each other feel special. I try to give him a kiss or a hug, and tell him 'I love you' every day, and he does the same for me."

The loved-up couple worked together as producers on the Rwandan genocide documentary Earth Made of Glass, which was released in the US this month. Channing has revealed the project was a smooth process for the couple, because they understood each other so well. (C) Cover Media
