(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Channing Tatum says his latest acting role is the most dangerous he has filmed to date.

The actor who has five movies opening this year has revealed he came back broken from filming The Eagle.

The 30-year-old plays a Roman soldier in the historical action adventure set in A.D. 140 Britain, who comes to Britain in hopes of restoring the tarnished reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth Legion. The hunky American actor who enjoyed a rural upbringing in Mississippi admitted that the stunts and the Scottish elements were a hazard while filming the historic movie.

"The Eagle was definitely the most dangerous film I've ever done," he told USA today. "We were on horseback on unsteady ground on cliffs, places where horses should never have been. I came back broken physically, mentally and spiritually. I knew it was going to be hard and grueling, but I didn't realise how cold it was going to be. When you're in the middle of the highlands of Scotland, you can't get away from the moisture in the air," he added.

The actor is renowned for starring in films including Step Up and Dear John, but has revealed The Eagle challenged his ability as an actor. The role required him to brave the harsh Scottish weather without the usual luxuries of Hollywood.

"We didn't have trailers. We had down coats over our soaking wet clothes, and we stood by little propane heaters or actual fires, he added. (C) Cover Media
