Charlize Theron has waxed lyrical about single life and says she's "really enjoying" it.

The Oscar winner disclosed that she's been on a few dates since breaking up with boyfriend Stuart Townsend last year, with one encounter ending up with her clothes off.

The 36-year-old actress told the talk show host that she had a "tiny" coffee date with an unnamed man at one of their homes.

"So you're going to his house or he's coming to your house for coffee?" Ellen asked in the episode airing today. "That's not a tiny date."

"In my world, that is a tiny date," Charlize said. "It sounds like what you're not supposed to do, but in my world, there really is no other way."

"Like come to my house for coffee?" Ellen asked before Charlize joked, "Is it wrong that I did it naked? Is that normal?"

The South African beauty also told Ellen that she hasn't been single since she was 19-years-old but she is enjoying the uncharted waters.

"I've been in two relationships one was 10 years [with Stuart] and one was three years, just like back-to-back," she explained. "I haven't really when I talk about it, it's not to get pity. It's actually a nice experience for me because I haven't experienced it."

"I think that I'm a bit of a creature that is definitely very comfortable in a relationship that was my 20's and early 30's. I was never single and now all of a sudden not that I'm painting the town red, and dancing, and clubbing, but I'm really enjoying being on my own."
