Charlotte Church still finds fame odd

24th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlotte Church says she will never get used to being famous.

The British singer shot to fame when she was just 11 and sold millions of classical albums around the world. She performed for a host of people including the Pope and Bill Clinton, before ditching her classical roots for a new pop sound. Charlotte admits still finds it difficult to live in the public spotlight and be followed by paparazzi. Whenever she is feeling down, she just focuses on the things she is grateful for most of all her children, three-year-old Ruby and Dexter, 23 months.

What is odd is that you never get used to it, she said about fame. The way I look at it, I have an awesome life, with money and freedom and two beautiful children, so when I feel things are getting dark, I remind myself of that.

Charlotte developed a reputation as a party girl in her late teens, but the 24-year-old star now hopes people will focus on her music. She denies she ever went too wild when she was younger and she insists she is now happy to settle down and put her loved ones before anything else.

My priorities have always been family, friends and happiness, she added. I want the album to succeed for my kids, and so people can know Im not like some celebrities out there, famous for nothing. I want people to remember why I am here in the first place. (C) Cover Media
