Cheryl Cole returning to US X Factor'

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Cheryl Cole could be returning to US X Factor after show bosses reached out to her.

The UK singer was unveiled as a judge on the new television talent contest alongside Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul. However, TV executives became worried she wasn't the right choice after contestants struggled to understand her accent and due to her lack of chemistry with Paula.

Cheryl was eventually let go, with Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger, who had been lined up as the programme's presenter, taking her position on the panel.

It was thought Cheryl would return to the UK version of the series, but that hasn't happened. It's now been claimed Simon has been fighting to get her back on the US show, with bosses eventually agreeing it would be best.

"We have offered Cheryl a second chance and she might still come back to US X Factor. Fox have been re-examining the situation and have had a change of heart," a source close to Simon told British newspaper The Sunday Mirror.

"After the debacle with the UK judging panel we have started negotiating with Cheryl's camp and the ball is now in her court."

Contestant auditions are due to take place in New Jersey this week, so Cheryl might be back in time for them.

It's been claimed the decision might be in part down to money. She's rumoured to have agreed a $1.5 million fee for the US programme, but her contract means she'll receive the cash even if she doesn't appear on it. Show chiefs are said to be thinking it makes more sense to have her there than not.

Cheryl's representatives haven't commented on any of the reports.

Last week, her US manager will.i.am insisted she was doing well despite the recent setback.

"Cheryl always comes back stronger, and she always comes back bigger. Cheryl has been through rougher things than this, so this is going to be no problem for her," he said. (C) Cover Media
