Cheyenne Jackson in awe of Glee co-star

22nd September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Cheyenne Jackson says working with Jane Lynch on Glee was like the first day of school.

The Broadway star plays Dustin Goolsby in the second season of the American high school musical show, which premiered in the US last night. He had been due to appear in the programme before but illness meant the part had to be recast, so Cheyenne was thrilled when he heard hed won the role.

One of his best memories to date was the first time he worked with Jane, who won an Emmy Award for her portrayal of straight-talking cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester this year. I had to Gleek out on her when I met her. It was like the first day of school, pardon the pun, he laughed to thedailybeast.com.

Glee is about a group of high school misfits who perform in a choral society. They are coached by teacher Will Schuester, portrayed by Matthew Morrison. Dustin looks after a rival singing club, and will appear in several episodes of series two.

Cheyenne still cant believe he has the part, revealing he embarrassed himself in front of series creator Ryan Murphy when he first got the news. It was all I could do to stop from jumping off my chair," he laughed. "I wanted to give them all hugs but I didn't know if that would be too weird. I think I may have hugged Ryan Murphy."
