Chitrangada led to director-producer war

There is no doubt that
Chitrangada Singh is mentor
Sudhir Mishra's favourite leading lady, but would he dare to lose a producer to have her in a project is a question. And this is what happened to his next release '
Mehrunissa'.
Since the film was announced, Sudhir was quite sure that Chitrangada will be his 'Mehrunissa' and he was also excited about
Amitabh Bachchan and
Rishi Kapoor working in the same film together after ages.
Apparently, producer
Nikhil Advani was not too keen on having Chitraganda play the lead and reportedly he also discussed the project with
Priyanka Chopra.
Grapevine in the buzz is that Mishra was quite adamant that only Chitrangada can do justice to the role and this led to Advani's ouster. However, Advani says that it was his busy schedule with '
D-Day' when the decisions were being made is the actual reason. The film has now found another producer.
