Chris Brown apologises for gay' outburst

23rd June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Brown insists he has "total respect" for the gay community.

The 22-year-old singer took to his Twitter page to make the statement in the wake of an incident which saw him launch into a foul-mouthed tirade when he was almost handed a parking ticket.

The R&B star insists that he didn't mean to offend anyone during the incident.

"I have total respect for Gay community and my intention was not to insult anyone in it. #REALS*** (sic)" he wrote on his social networking page.

According to TMZ, the situation became tense when Chris accused a cameraman of alerting a parking officer to investigate whether or not his car was illegally parked, while also calling a crew of cameramen "gay" in the process.

According to TMZ, Chris launched into a foul-mouthed tirade, which included a homophobic slur.

"Y'all n****** is weak. Did you all call them [parking enforcement] to try and film me? Y'all n****** is gay (sic)" he said.

The Human Rights Campaign told the American website that Chris' language is "just plain unacceptable".

Chris was sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community service after pleading guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009. Earlier this year he also had a violent outburst at Good Morning America's ABC studio, which saw him smash a window. (C) Cover Media
