The 30-year-old actor has had numerous high profile parts in monumental Hollywood blockbuster movies such as Fantastic Four. Starring in the iconic Captain America film added pressure on the actor, forcing him to "second-guess" himself often while filming.

"It's an intimidating role, and it's an intimidating movie," Chris told SciFi Now. "I never second-guessed myself more than I did on this, and you have to find a way to trust yourself, otherwise you're going to be stuck in this halfway performance."

Chris is always prepared to perform to an excellent standard. A major reason behind the actor's trepidation with this specific role is the fact that the character he plays, Captain America, is beloved by millions of fans.

"You obviously take every job seriously, you try to do your best work, and you know this film is a permanent thing it will be around forever. But having this in the back of your mind, knowing that millions of people love this character it's a lot of responsibility."

Chris resolved his anxieties about playing one of the most beloved characters in comic book history by trusting his abilities and reminding himself that this role was just like any other job.

"The most burdensome element was getting that out of your head trying to come to work and say You've learned your preparation, you know what you're doing, trust your instincts and just go to work, don't let that fear dominate your thought process'," said Chris.

Ultimately what got him through this self-imposed burden was a deep faith in himself.

"I trust myself," said Chris. "So it was a matter of coming to work and committing, and having faith in my decisions."
