Chris Hemsworth: Avengers script is outstanding

24th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Hemsworth says the script he has read for The Avengers is incredible.

The Australian actor will play Norse god Thor in the movie, which will feature a host of superheroes from the Marvel comic books. Chris can be seen in Thor later this year and is already looking forward to starting work on The Avengers film.

He has seen an early copy of a script and is confident comic book fans will be impressed with the storyline, which will be directed by Joss Whedon.

[The script] is incredible. Everything about the story and the comic books is huge. You have these huge, big superheroes and huge, big egos crammed into one small space. Reading the script, it was massive, he told MTV. Everything about it was like, 'Oh my god.' I said to Joss, I said, 'I don't know how you're going to shoot this thing [laughs], but I'm excited to be onboard and let's give it a go."

The Avengers is due for release in 2012 and will star Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Chris Evans as Captain America.

Chris says cinemagoers can expect to see a hell of a lot of friction between the superheroes.

Although he is excited about the script, he is refusing to give away too many details. When quizzed on whether Thor will fight Hulk in the movie, he was reluctant to discuss who will get on his characters bad side.

He also avoided commenting on rumours Hawkeye will make an appearance in the upcoming Thor movie. "Maybe," he replied. "I don't know. I can't deny or say I know anything." (C) Cover Media
