(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bridesmaids actor Chris O'Dowd has revealed he is engaged.

The Irish star has decided to celebrate his successful year by proposing to his television presenter girlfriend Dawn Porter.

Chris asked Dawn to marry him on December 26 and he took to this Twitter account to announce the happy news.

"I'm so bored of all this happiness and sex. I'm getting married," he quipped.

The 32-year-old decided to propose at Havelet Bay in Guernsey where Dawn grew up.

She has also posted a message on Twitter to reveal her delight.

"I guess he liked it, coz he put a ring on it #engaged (sic)," she wrote.

As well as sharing love scenes with Kristen Wiig in the smash hit Bridesmaids, the comic star also appears in the new comedy This is 40 alongside Megan Fox.

Chris is currently producing a comedy television series about growing up in the 80s in Ireland, entitled Moone Boy.

Chris and Dawn had been dating for around two years before the actor decided to pop the question. It is not yet known when they plan to tie the knot. (C) Cover Media
