(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Christina Aguilera has denied being responsible for a large bruise on her son's face.

Her three-year-old son Max was seen with a big mark around his eye, but the singer has told friends it was not her fault.

TMZ claim that Christina is firing back at the rumours that her "erratic behaviour and alleged booze-filled outings" somehow contributed to her son's accident.

A source told the site that the toddler fell while out with his nanny last week at the park.

He was apparently chasing squirrels and tripped over a rock and bruised his face.

Max was taken to seek medical treatment immediately and everything was fine, according to sources.

They added that there were no broken bones, no stitches were needed and that Christina "is a great mom and Max is her number one priority."

Christina and ex-husband Jordan Bratman co-parent Max. Last year they announced they would be going their separate ways after five years of marriage.

She is now dating production assistant Matt Rutler who she is rumoured to be planning to marry. (C) Cover Media
