October 14, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Singer Christina Aguilera has reportedly called it quits with her husband Jordan Bratman. The couple have reportedly split and are leading mutually separate lives for some months now. However divorce proceedings in court have not started yet and it is being said that the couple are not even sure if they want to get divorced or not! Christina Aguilera said in a statement to the media that though they are in separation, both parents remain highly committed to their only son Max.

The singer says that the couple chose to part ways because after living with each other over the years they realized that they were more like friends, in spite of sharing a husband-wife relationship for five years! Christina Aguilera married Jordan Bratman, a music executive, in the year 2005. Their son was born in 2008. The couple have been in a relationship three years, prior to marriage and were very much in love with each other, till six months ago, when they realized that the love had changed to mere friendship.

Christina Aguilera is known for her hit track Genie in a Bottle which released during the early stages of her career. With subsequent hits like Beautiful and What a Girl Wants, the singer is undoubtedly one of the biggest recorder in the US music industry today. Aguilera has also had her share of screen space as a child artist in Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club and is presently awaiting the release of her first movie Burlesque.
